Not just the main character knows what ‘tragedy’ means, not just main character is depressed, and literally everything is NOT about the protagonist.

The plot of Tokyo Ghoul, like I mentioned earlier, is not like other typical tragic mangas. That’s how I searched for illegal websites, became a pirate and finished Tokyo Ghoul. Manga was easy to read, and one chapter can be finished in five to ten minutes, so I need not take out extra time to read it, unlike I did in anime. Moreover, my mom was worried about my studies (she still is, but this time it’s because of writing) so I thought it’s better to step into the manga world. Plus, I’ve watched over dozens of anime, and I wanted to work on my draft web-novels on my own, so I knew that anime-time, which used to be between 7:30 to 9:30, had to be renamed as writing time. One forty-four chapters, as I remember correctly, can’t be fully adapted into just twenty-four episodes. My Instagram feed was full of Tokyo Ghoul, and in that mist, I heard a lot of people suggesting that TG’s manga is better than the anime. (Remember TG and TG:re are considered different series). Nevertheless, I became its fan the moment Kaneki was taking Hide and we hear ‘Unravel’ for the last time. Tokyo Ghoul has been different from other tragic anime unlike other anime, not only the protagonist, but literally ever character had a tragedy of its own. I saw, for the first time, that so much tragedy can be brought to so many characters. Nevertheless, after so much trgedy, I knew it was important to make the audience shed tears once again, ‘happy’ tears. I’ve always had a great interest in ‘tragedy’ genre, and like others, I wasn’t happy with the happy ending of the story. The artworks, fight scenes, and the work of sound-tracks, every single thing seemed perfect to me. I used to be a strict anime-only viewer, and after a dozen of animes, I decided to step my foot on the land of Tokyo Ghoul.
